I think that's because their so good with children. Their loyal, healthy, and they don't break so easily. Word gets around fast and people that own them are their best publicist. After all, everything seems to go full circle in life. More and more breeders are breeding toward this type for all the right reasons. Maybe crossing the Chihuahua to the Pug and the Pekingese in the early days when the show fancier's were looking to create that prefect little square cobby body didn't work out in their best interest. Bad jaws, bad teeth, teeth falling out before their the age of three years. And way to many health problems with their breathing. Yes it's definitely time for all Chihuahua breeders to get back to the basic beginning, when the Chihuahua was on top of his game and was marveled for all the world to see and adore. Maybe the Aztecs could teach us all some lessons in dog breeding...... If it's not broken don't fix it.
