I wonder how many people out there that think they bought a little Chihuahua, only to fine they emptied out their pockets for a fabulous fake. And not even a good one at that. I see so called Chihuahuas on websites all the time that are knock-offs for sure and people just keep shelling out the Ducats just to fit in. Taco Hell dogs that someday will grow up to be a Labrador, a real bed buddy. Yes for some pet shops owners an uneducated consumer is their best customer. Oh and don't forget to stop by the fish department to purchase some authentic moon rocks you little moondoggies you.
All kidding aside.....any horror stories, I'm all ears.

Hi everyone newbie here. I brought my Chihuahua from a pet shop and yes, I'm guilty of being an uneducated consumer. So I jump on the chance to pay 2,000 for a Chihuahua that grew up to be a chiWOWhave you grown to be a Great Dane. LOL but we still love him. When people ask me what he is , I just answer them that he's a mixed breed so I don't have to embarrass myself. Next time I'll do some research and go to a breeder that is local.
Research the breed and know what a real chi pups looks like. My first came from a individual who only had 2 females she was breeding as a hobby. Abby is a wonderful little Chihuahua but I have no registration papers on her. My second came from a larger breeder and she just told me she had her pups in a small pet store close to her house and they were all little Appleheaded chis that would not get any larger than about 5 lbs. Well Roxie is CKC and a sweetheart of a pup. But her head is a mix between a deerhead type and apple head and she has the longer legs. She is a great weight at 5lb 7 oz, since I plan to breed her later on. Ask for pictures of the parents before you buy !! The Sire was a LC applehead and the Dam was a SC larger type deerhead. I did not know this until the puppy litter registration papers got mixed up. But... all that aside Roxie is wonderful. Just be sure and ask lots of questions and ask to see pictures of parents and even grandparents if you can. Then you will know more what size your pup will be grown. Good luck puppy shopping.
