I'm I buying the real deal?

I bought a Chihuahua puppy over the Internet on puppy find. The picture of him looked so cute. I paid $500.00 plus $250.00 for shipping for this puppy that came with a full AKC registration. When the day came to go to the airport to pick up our little bundle of joy we were filled with so much excitement. As my family sat waiting patiently for the plane to arrive, the minutes turn into hours. Finally, the moment came. There was our precious baby Austin. As I looked inside the pet taxi I felt my knees buckle. Oh my God!
The baby they sent me was a mix breed for sure. Not even close to what a Chihuahua is suppose to look like, nothing like his picture portray him to be.
When I called the breeder to tell her of my sick to my stomach feeling over the matter her answer was to me, they can't all be stars!
Never again. frustrated weirdface

Well that's to bad for you indeed. Buying a puppy over the Internet should be a a safe bet. It's just to bad that there are players that are looking to cheat somebody all the time. People that are to focused on the whole paper thing can get snagged by an bad breeder.
It doesn't matter what dog registry your talking about, there are people willing to rip you off in all of them. Some of them get extra papers when registering a litter and then a non AKC puppy can become a AKC puppy. It is mated and has what are suppose to be purebreds but are not. You  always have be careful no matter what the registry is. Puppy mills supply brokers that supply pet stores can easily put AKC papers on any puppy because there always some kind of AKC puppies in pet shops. These brokers have many different dog breeds registered in their name to many dog registries without even owning a dog themselves and can falsifiy any papers on puppies they choose. Black market dog papers,... It's become quite a profitable business worldwide. Just be sure to ask questions about the puppy, and get as much information as possible about the puppy you are buying from the breeder.

I'm proud to stay that I got out of the whole politics
of papering my beloved Chihuahuas. I now give a simple paper naming the sire and dam. I  put all my interest only in the well being of my puppies, and can give a guarantee that most breeders wouldn't dream of giving to the people that buy from them. I set the standard and leave it up to then to follow if they dare!...100% money back guarantee for the life of the dog against any genetic defects for (LIFE), and that doesn't scare me a bit. And that includes your genetic defects due to allergies.

When some is interested in one of my pups no amount of questions is to much for me. I'll even help them ask the questions if they just don't know how to go about it themselves. People that are considered pet people are my greatest joy.....there the kind of people that are looking for a healthy, loving, good temperament pet who will love them for many years to come. They are the true pet lover's of the world and their heart is always in the right place. People that stay clear of the whole paper chase and really appreciate what a good and reputable dog breeder is all about.....LOVE!

I think I am going to start up my own breed registry.  I will call it the UEDB...It's an acronym for Uneducated Dog Buyers.  Would Anyone be willing to send me $25 to register themselves.  I'd stand to make a lot of money.  biggrin

What happened to Just Ducky is happening alot now. Sending out mixed breeds .. pups don't look like the photo you saw when you sent your money. I have had some bad luck too and you never forget the sinking feeling in your stomach when you see this .. What the heck is that ?? get off the plane.. I have Bulldogs and to my surprise my so called Internet friends will send me  what is called their runts.. or left overs. Is this funny ..? No it makes me sick for weeks. Scamming innocent people out of their hard earned  money is about as low as you can go. You call the person that sent you the mutt that isn't worth 200 dollars and wow, if you knew what I paid you would be on the next plane. Well they hide behind their emails.. won't reply.. hide behind their answering machine.. will never pick up and admit they gotcha.

This is the fastest growing scam on the puppy sites. BE CAREFUL who you send money too. Get references. Vet and puppy buyers that are happy with this breeders puppies and was it a happy experience dealing with this breeder ?
When you have a gut feeling something ain't right.. as they say.. follow your gut feelings and refuse the purchase .. Look elsewhere.
what are red flags ?? lets list some of the red flags that would alert you to a scammer. NEVER answering your emails in detail... only sending back ONE LINERS as I call them. Avoiding sending Current pictures or close ups to identfy your puppy. Skimming over your questions no matter how insignificant it is.. it should be answered. A good breeder wil take the time to talk about anything you ask. Is not afraid to hang on a lenthly phone conversation about his/herself and the puppy in question.

I am so sorry you got scammed. Did you charge him on a credit card? Sometimes you can go to the credit card company and get some help from them since he was misrepresented. I think I would only buy locally unless I really knew the person or had been on a forum with them for a long time and knew their dogs well. Again I know you must be really hurt. If you had to keep the puppy I hope at least he is a sweetie and has won your heart over.

No, I'm sorry to say I sent a cashiers check as this use the only way she would do business. I should have listen to my daughter, she warned me of such things, but the puppy's picture was so adorable I couldn't resisted. I reported here to the proper authorities, but to no avail.
